Women’s Bullseye Pistol
Training Available
All interested women are invited to attend
women’s Bullseye pistol trainings that will be held on the Pistol Range at the
Oklahoma City Gun Club on the following Sundays: It is not necessary to be a member of the
OKC Gun Club to participate.
This training is open to all women shooters (sorry guys!) regardless of
experience level and is intended to develop the basic marksmanship skills needed
for Bullseye shooting. No prior shooting experience is necessary, only a desire
to learn precision pistol shooting and a willingness to practice. Junior girls
who are at least 14 years old are also welcome to participate; however a parent
or guardian must be present. Our goal is to develop a women’s Bullseye team to
compete at the state, regional and national level.
Bullseye, also known as Conventional Pistol, is a precision pistol sport that is
shot standing unsupported using one hand. Both the .22 and the .45 (with the
possibility of another center fire caliber) are used to shoot the various stages
of the match, Beginning Bullseye shooters will start with the .22 caliber only
and add the .45 as their skills develop.
Interested shooters should bring a .22 pistol, 200 rounds of suitable
ammunition, eye and ear protection, hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water.
The cost is $5 per person to cover the cost of targets. If you do not have a
suitable .22 pistol, please let me know at least two days in advance and we will
find one for you to use. If you have questions or would like to request a loaner
pistol, please contact Salli Wandke at salliw@cox.net.
All shooters, men, women and juniors, are welcome to attend the regular monthly
Bullseye training. Please consult the Bullseye page at www.okcgunclub.org for
more information and specific dates.
